InfraGard-KC was founded by a handful of individuals as an informal security community in the Kansas City metropolitan region following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. In August of 2002, this team organized and sponsored the first Midwest Infrastructure Security Forum, which has become the organization's premier annual event.
